"This was my first time staying at James Bay Inn and I loved it! The staff treat you so well and are genuine. I love that the place has the artwork (reproductions) of Emily Carr's paintings on the wall which makes sense since the Inn is a few houses away from Emily Carr's residence. The Inn has an old world charm. The beds in the room were comfortable and I slept well."

"Very clean rooms. Staff was all beyond amazing, friendly and attentive! The only complaint I have is that we didn’t get a balcony in our room as advertised (our friends who booked at the same time as us got the balcony) and also it got a little bit warm in the room and they didn’t seem to have an AC in our room but cracking a window helped. Not sure how it would be in summer. "

"The staff were excellent -very helpful and friendly. I really appreciated the room upgrade and complementary parking. Loved the whirlpool and pool! Good, comfortable bed. Very spacious. Great location. The room is a bit dated and dark. Some brighter lights would be great. Overall, I had a great stay. Thank you!"

"The good news is that the room was recently refurbished, with all new flooring and furniture. It was roomy with a kitchenette and the water pressure in the shower was great. And it was not too expensive compared to other nearby properties. It is also in a great location - close to downtown but not so close the it would be noisy at closing time. The only negatives are that I was on the third floor and it is a walk up; the hallway carpets are a little tired; and the water in the shower oscillated in temperature just a bit. Overall would go back and would recommend."
