Guest, PLEASE NOTE!
Per Oahu law, and confirmed by the December 22 2023 Court Order, this is a LEGAL LONG-TERM rental, meaning we rent to one family per month! Our monthly rental fee is $8,750 (plus tax and cleaning). You can stay 7, 10, 15, etc. days, but that is the fee you pay. So the more days you stay, the better the deal. Please read the below Oahu rules for occupying our house for fewer than 30 days:
ABOUT OUR HOUSE:
Our house is located in Laie, which offers a lot of relaxation in an unspoiled part of Hawaii that remains very Polynesian in culture (i.e. very warm and friendly). The Polynesian Cultural Center, Oahu's most visited attraction, is just 1 mile up the road.
The location of the house is unique. The house sits inside a beautiful state beach park. We have a 120-degree view of the ocean from the large covered deck. The only thing between our house and the beach is 40 steps across the grass field.
Also, the beach easily ranks as one of the best in Hawaii. You will find yourself taking spectacular morning and evening beach walks. Because our beach is behind a reef, there are no big waves so you can swim year-round.
To our left, for 3/4 mile there are no houses along the beach. Just tropical park trees. You really feel like you are on a tropical island. The beach is wide and the ocean is all sandy bottom. To our right there is great snorkeling and there is a popular local ocean playground the locals call the "Alligator Pond" because a series of rocks in the water look like an alligator from afar. Kids love the pond because the water is shallow and warm so even toddlers can play without any waves (which are caught by those rocks). They get fascinated by the little tropical fish swimming around in the pond.
Also, to the left there are great areas for bigger kids (9+) to safely boogie board as the waves are just big enough to get some nice rides.
The best feature of the house is the large deck which is covered by the upstairs part of the house. Because trees to our right shield the house from Ocean winds you can enjoy every breakfast, lunch and dinner out on the deck overlooking the park and ocean. That is really relaxing!
OAHU VACATION RENTAL LAW EXPLAINED
Oahu's government requires the following statement in every ad: "This property may not be rented for less than 30 consecutive days! The monthly rental fee will not be reduced or increased based on the number of days the rental is used."
Question: What does that mean? Can we rent your house for 10 days?
Answer: You can stay at our house for 10 nights, or 9 or 15, 21 etc. But your stay will be covered under a 30-day contract. No one else will be allowed to occupy the house during your month. No one else but your family can occupy the property during that period.
Question: Why can I not just pay for 10 days?
Answer: Because the Oahu law on vacation rentals requires that all rental contracts are for 30 or more days. So the rent has to be an amount per month, not per night. The law does not care how many of the 30 days you stay at the property!
Question: $8,750 sound like a lot if we only want to stay 10 nights.
Answer: Just look at other properties right by the beach with 3 or 4 bedrooms and you will see that our rate is far lower than most of the others.
Question: How can I rent your house?
Answer: Just enter the date you want to stay at the house and click the RESERVE button. I will then send you the 30-day, $8,950 booking quote you can use to book your stay.
WHAT does is mean that all rentals are under a 30-day contract?
It simply means that all rental contracts have to be for at least 30 days, even if you only use the house for 7, 10, 15 etc. days. (Oahu does not care how many days you occupy the property under a 30-day contract). So only your family stays at the house that month. The rest of the month the house will be vacant.
So can I rent your house for 10 days?
You can stay at our house for10 nights, or 9 or 15 or 21. Your contract will cover a 30-day period.
