l would not recommend this hotel
I booked a superior double room, which was in an out building. It was nice but from 05:00 in the morning the noise is ridiculous. Bins of bottles being emptied, trucks making deliveries, other guests talking at the top of their voices - with old windows and old walls with no noise insulation it was really terrible.

We only stayed for a night, but we were impressed with the hotel. We were actually given a free upgrade to the "junior suite", which was a very nice surprise. The bed was comfortable and the rooms were clean. The bathroom facilities were very nice and the staff courteous and helpful. We happened to travel into Guildford via the London Road train station, so found getting to the hotel very easy and straightforward. If we were to visit Guildford again overnight, we would stay at the Mandolay again.
