The hotel is huge and self contained with 3 buildings, 3 onsen facilities and 3-4 restaurants. Just 2-3 minutes walk from the JR station very conveniently located. Strangely enough, the town itself appears dead with most restaurants closed during this winter/spring season.
We were put in the old wing which was inconvenient to get to and run down. Room was large and comfortable but they didn’t fix the mattress daily. There was drinking water on the first day and then I had to go get myself on other days. Had Kaiseki on the first night, not as good as others I’ve tried. ...

Good hotel to stay. Near to JR station. Staff are friendly and polite. Superb breakfast and dinner which we enjoyed the most. Outdoor onsen is not big but you can enjoy it alone most of the time because the hotel has limited rooms and it means less crowded. Will recommend to friend.
The dinner was yummy and the location of the hotel was very convenient.

One of the hotel staff, Ben, is from Hong Kong who is very helpful and friendly. Hotel room is a bit small compared with similar onsen hotels we used to stay in other parts of Japan though. Food is good. Overall great experience.
What I like about this boutique style ryokan with 19 rooms is the onsens which are tastefully designed with good ambience.
