This is a lovely olde worlde pub with lots of character. We were just staying for one night to break up a long journey but unfortunately the heating had packed up and the pub had been let down by the engineer. However, the staff were very accommodating and organised a portable heater which took the chill out of a cold and wet November evening. The cosy fire in the restaurant also made for a pleasant atmosphere

Would stay again. Wifi didn’t work but understandable due to type of building. As a result, wifi should not be advertised as available.

I booked three nights at this hotel. The access to the rooms is very steep and not as I would have liked. The room was generally clean and was due to be serviced after the second night this did not happen. Considering it is an old building a major re-decoration would be advised. The time of breakfast is 8am the second morning I arrived at 8.05 and was told that I was late what did I want anyway. I was offered a full english which was a big disappointment. I didnt think may stay was very pleasant the restaurant is adequate the vegetarian options on the menu was good.

We had to share a Bathroom - This is 2019, Yet we had to share a bathroom !!! It's an Old inn, full of character, but that makes the rooms small, and not easily upgradeable to 2019 standards. Cosy is the best way of putting it. The TV in the room was very small (12" ), and the noise from the Pub kept us up till gone mid-night. Foods was OPK, but I've had better, My Wife's Food Friday night was probably just Micro-waved, so nothing special. The Inn itself was OK if you accept it's age and obvious limitations, and the Staff we encountered were Great, could not fault them.
