First day the refrigerator was old, the day of the arrival was noisy, do not let us rest, in addition had a bad smell. My husband get a technician to fix it. The next day the water heater got broken and my husband had to fix it. The owner was not willing to resolve the issues. Next day workers repairing the complex were making noises, drilling and loud music, for many days. The apartment was dirty and had human hair everywhere. The old furniture was dirty too with lots of small ants that bite me many times, I could not sit on them because I got this painful bite, they were everywhere in the apartment.The screens of the windows were very dirty and were not fix so a lot of insects came inside into the apartment were crawling in the bed and everywhere and my body, I wake up with my foot, legs and hands cover in bites from the insects, I do not know what kind was, this was besides the ants. We endure the previous situation since we do not wanted to spend our precious time resolving every issue with the apartment. At this point we requested the owner a refund but she was so insensitive and lack of compassion that even said that that was nothing and the insects were harmless. For her the apartment was sparkling clean even when we show her the dirt, the photos of the insects, the bites in my body and the insects that we had to kill the previous night. We have photos of everything. The owner refused to give us a refund despite that her property was not acceptable.Her denial was not honest and caused that we cannot stay since we were risking our health. We filed a complaint in Home Away site but it was a waste of time, the staff do not do nothing to help us to get the refund or to provide a hotel to stay, just limited to say they will filed this complaint in the owner's account. We lost all the money for the overall cost of the trip, the stay was supposed to be for a month but we just stayed 11 days and could not achieve the business that was the purpose of our travel. We had to go to a hotel and change our flight back to home and spent more for the additional costs.The whole experience was traumatic and mentally agonizing. Beware of doing arrangements with Home Away or others since you risk everything and nobody will guarantee what you deserve, which is a clean, peaceful and safe place to stay. Even worst will not support you if you got in a situation like this. I will never use or recommend Home Away or other companies or go back to Puerto Rico
