This was hands down one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. We booked a family suite at The Inn at Mazatlán for our vacation with our two kids, my husband, and my mom, expecting something comfortable and family-friendly. Instead, we were hit with a nightmare.
The first room we were given was full of mosquitoes, literally flying around and biting us. The room also had a terrible moldy/musty smell that made it hard to breathe. We complained immediately, and while the staff wasn’t rude, they didn’t do much to fix the situation. They moved us to a second-floor room, but it was just as bad, same awful smell, and still had bugs. To make matters worse, the toilet in that room was clogged.
I asked to be moved again and was shown multiple other rooms — all of them had the same terrible odor. Clearly, this is a major issue with their HVAC system, and the entire hotel feels like it’s overdue for a deep cleaning.
The front desk kept telling me the only thing they could offer was “the same room on a different floor.” It was obvious that this is just how the whole hotel is- not clean, not comfortable, and definitely not what we paid for. We couldn’t relax at all, and I wouldn’t stay here again even if it were free.
Don’t be fooled by the pictures online. This place needs serious maintenance and accountability. I rarely write reviews, but travelers deserve to know the truth.
