Loved our stay at the hotel, it was spotless and the staff could not be more helpful. The only downside was the square beside the hotel attracted an unsavory element at night. Sadly this problem can be found in most cities now.

Convenient between the main train station and the city center, clean and friendly. The windows keep the noise out for a good sleep. The breakfast buffet is wonderful, including fresh eggs. The area directly south of the hotel and towards the main train station is the very seedy red-light district of Frankfurt (with some excellent restaurants, too), but if you stick to Mainzer Landstrasse or north of that, it is fine. The plaza directly in front of the hotel is fine too.

The airconditioning in our room didn't work and the only option given to us was to open the widow wider. We were in a room on the 1st floor above the entrace door with guests coming and going at all hours, banging car doors, smoke smells coming in - it was a nightmare stay without any offer of compensation and no offer of a replacement room on the night. Very disappointed. Additionally the area is very seedy.

The hotel itself was as expected for a Holiday Inn, though the bed was very hard, the bedding stiff ( absolutely no comparison to the gorgeous sheets at Holiday Inn Dubai Festival City). I forgot a UK adaptor and despite the signs saying if you forget anything.. they didn't have one. Room service didn't answer. Usually you get free bottles of water, here I found I was charged a mini bar price, even though it was on an open shelf. The area around the hotel was not safe, red light district and a lot of homeless and drug addicts on the streets. As a solo woman traveller would not walk from the hotel
