Very very excellent location! Right by the market and tons of eateries and groceries. Staff were very kind and friendly. We stayed an extra night as well! would definitely come back again

Free breakfast! Cheap and comfortable hostel
Good value for money hostel. The free breakfast was a nice touch and we appreciated the bread provided which we could toast and have with margarine, chocolate sauce or jam. As it was raining the hostel also allowed us to borrow umbrellas and leave our luggage after checkout to explore the area

The terrace on each floor was a nice bonus along with having laundry in the building. The dining room was decent to be able to cook our own food, however finding a quiet time was key as it could get very busy.

Friendly and pleasant budget hostel
Nice friendly staff. We - my son and me - stayed for 4 nights, We slept in the dormitory. Beds are ok. Pillows a bit too firm however difficult to have a goodnight sleep as new people were either arriving very late at night or left very early. Although they were careful not to make too much noise, my sleep was regularly broken up by the packing and unpacking of luggage etc. Great breakfast but can be busy at times in the morning. Bathroom and showers clean. Great location in Asakusa with shops , restaurant, shrines. Good transport possibilities to central Tokyo. Not far from Skytree and Ueno. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Khaosan and would come back but in private rooms this time.

Good for the $, front staff could be more helpful
Location is great, the facilities are decently clean for what it is, but the front desk staff seemed less than helpful. Even when speaking in Japanese, the front desk lady was confused when we asked to add our post cards to the hotel's outgoing mail and would not help call a cab. We figured it all out, but it would have been nice to have a bit more helpful staff.

Beautiful hostel! Kitchen and lounge area was very spacious and friendly, you can rent bikes (perfect for Kyoto) for very affordable prices, and the staff is incredibly helpful and kind!

This is a budget hostel with most rooms being shared and bathrooms down the hall. We, however, were able to secure a "family room" with its own bathroom and shower. The best part is that it was a traditional tatami mat room with futons - VERY convenient.

Good for the price
first image of place itself is not so nice but finally can realize it is clean and safe. It is very close to train station and Asakusa temple. Once we did not have hot water in the shower but after reporting it was quickly resolved

Great for making new friends
The location was pretty good, since it was close enough to everything that I wanted to see that I didn`t travel too far out of my way. The only way cleanliness was a problem was in the shared bathrooms, where it seemed that some of the other guests had never learned to properly aim. I did like the open rooms with bunkbeds...it made for great space to have conversations and meet new friends. At the same time though, it meant there was little to no privacy.

- Very close to Asakusa Tsukuba express line (easy to go to Akihabara), close to Tawaramachi Metro Ginza line - Wifi signal in the dorm was quite terrible; I couldn't access in every single time.

Staff were super friendly and helpful, plus the facilities were all clean and easy to use. It’s a really, really great location. Only thing is that it felt a bit dead - some events to bring people together (as I am a solo traveller) would have been nice.

Stayed in a 4 person private room. As a 90kg,1.8m broad-shouldered man, the place is a little bit small but still cosy. Entry way to the private bathroom has a low beam which barely misses my head. Other than that, the room was very reminiscent of a traditional ryokan. Tatami and wooden flooring, futons etc.

The worst hotel room
The room is smell and very old. Much much older than the photo. There is a toilet but no bath. You need to use the public bath and need to pay for your towel. It is a hostel but charged with hotel rate for family. It is ridiculous that the fire escape needs to go through my family room. The worst hotel room with I have ever had.

You can't beat the price, especially for a group traveling together. Besides that though, there are plenty of reasons why we would never stay here again. The check-in process was awkward, as nothing is explained, you are required to "rent" towels, and the stay is not exactly a hotel experience. We asked about taxi pickup before checking out and were told it would be no problem (the night before). The morning of checkout however we were told that taxi reservations were not a service provided. Essentially, you can't trust anything told you to you by one person as they each (the young staff) give different answers.

Good location & great facilities
The hostel is close to the train stations and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. It is also very close to the Sensoji Temple. There so a very well equipped kitchen that is always spotless. The staff were very helpful. The only negatives were the smell coming from the bathroom and the shower was cold. Would stay again if we were back in Tokyo.

The location of this stay is very convenience, just opposite of Asakusa station. For transport to Haneda or Narita Airport, we can simply purchase the limousine bus ticket at Asakusa View Hotel just located beside this Khaosab World at 930 Yen for adult and 470 Yen for child.

Comfortable, but not close to the station
Booked 1 Bed in 6-Bed Dormitory with Bathroom. There are lockers and slippers in the room, shampoo and soap in the bathroom, one hunger, a hook, light, and 3 electrical outlets on the wall in your bed space. The bed was a spacious Tatami Mat.The room was also spacious so the other guests didn't really bother me. There was a kitchen and a lounge on the ground floor, but the room was comfy enough with bathroom and there were lots of restaurants near by, so I didn't use it. The front desk didn't give me correct information about the room and the area. Probably he was new. They put sign on the main road, but the design of the sign on the building was too fussy and hard to find(read). I couldn't find the hotel and walked around the block.

Nice and cozy
Nice and cozy though the closest Metro is 500m walk but if you take the speed train you can get off at the Asakusa which is the closest one. The odor from microwave should be fixed, it smells like someone left a jar of rotten milk in there.

The staff was courteous and helpful for the entirety of our stay. For the price you pay, you get really good service. The only complaint I would have would be the lack of an iron in the room that I had. That aside, I would come back in the future.

AMAZING!
Wonderful place to stay. Clean, affordable, good facilities, good location, and amazingly friendly and helpful staff. They were always willing to help you with any queries, no matter how complicated or at what time you brought them! There are two lounges, a dining room, a great kitchen, laundry, and shower rooms, and everything was always very clean and tidy. Not a single negative - it was a great place to stay.
