all the attractions were closed without any notice online. they were still selling tickets online. staff was rude when explaining the closure. the ONLY saving grace was the little military shop upstairs and the exceptional wait staff at the otherwise mediocre restaurant
The tram ride up is the longest in Gatlinburg (2 miles). The view on the ride is spectacular. You can ride even further up the mountain on a separate chair lift. When you get to the end of the tram, there is a little amusement park with rides the caliber of your local carnival. It is a little outdated (they opened in 1971) and not up to today's standards of amusement park rides. The indoor ice rink is cool though. When you get to the top if the chair lift, there is only a bluegrass band (before 6pm), bathrooms and great views of the mountains. There are two other locations in Gatlinburg that take you on a ski lift up a mountain to an amusement park. Both are more modern and include zip lines, ropes courses, and sky bridges that Ober Gatlinburg does not have. They do not, however, take you as far up the mountain as Ober Gatlinburg. I did not go to the other two locations simply because I wanted to ride 2 miles up the mountain in a tram. The ski lifts at the other two places were just short rides up other, smaller mountains. It was less than $20 to ride the tram up and it was good for two days.
An awesome view of the area if you take the tram up or down. Ticket was good for two days. Alpine slide was fun. The mountain coaster was awesome. Really good restaurant with great service, view and food.
Great for kids and love the ice skating, ice bumper cars and the alpine coaster. Shopping and food for adults
There was a gift shop and food at the top of the mountain. A little pricey. Great view of Gatlinburg. About a 15 minute ride up.
