I stayed in the hotel for 6 days in August 2023. I was a bit worried about the noise from the trains since the hotel is located right next to the Gare de Nantes. Fortunately, the noise was not an issue in my room that was facing the canal. However, it may be different in rooms that face the railway station or the rail tracks. The hotel is a 10 minutes' walk to the old downtown. The surrounding area (the south station) is quite well kept. The breakfast was fine with good selections. If you can add breakfast at a low price (say, $10 per person per day), I would strongly recommend it. I ask the hotel to serve hot potatoes, which are not expensive but filling.

Excellent hotel with easy access to Nantes trams (three minutes' walk across the station). Really good breakfasts, staff who seem to care. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Nantes.

Great stay but price of breakfast for child crazy!
Made the mistake of not checking price of breakfast, as our arrival flight was delayed and very late in..... Buffet breakfast was lovely, however €17 euro per head (same price for a child).....nearly died of shock!!! Room needs a proper hoovering around perimeter. Nice size and bathroom immaculate. Would stay again.... But not have breakfast!!!

I know and like the Mercure brand. But this is the one Mercure hotel I will not be returning to. Expensive (twice the price of the Mercure I stayed in the previous night. Small room. Didn’t like the glass shower room. Check in terrrible. There was a conference that had taken over reception and I was turned away but found a man with a pc in the bag checking in non-conference guests. Only good point was the magnifying shaving mirror in the bathroom. Will not return but will continue to use other Mercure hotels.

Nice stay. Fantastic breakfast.
Lovely hotel. The staff were always helpful and most had very good English. The breakfast buffet was probably one of the best I've seen with the option of cooking your own free eggs and pancakes.

Great location and parking
The hotel is well located for the town centre and excellent for the station. The rooms are modern and clean but a little small, OK for an overnight stay but you wouldn't want to stay much longer. The FREE parking is excellent and is a real bonus. All in all we could not complain.

My stay was good. The room was pleasant snd comfortable but the bathroom isn't sufficiently private with only a large glass screen and a clear but murky curtain between the bed and bathroom which means you can see a very clear outline of anyone showering. This lack of privacy would put me off a bit. The staff were very nice but the reception desk was empty a few times when I was looking for someone. They were very helpful when there. Would have liked conditioner for hair also and a bath hat. Overall the stay was very good and I was very happy. The place was clean and nicely decorated with a funky style. Breakfast was excellent.

We liked the location and the facilities on the ground floor. Staff on reception were very helpful in resolving any problems / issues. Room was smaller than other Mercure hotels we have stayed in. Needing an "open" window instead of aircondition we found it a little noisy - aircraft or trains depending on wind direction - also the late night revellers on the canal restaurants opposite the hotel.

Location, location, etc.
Mis-advertising notice - Main amenities lists Airport Shuttle but this really means the regular airport shuttle, that costs 9 Euros each way, drops off/picks up 50m from the hotel! Clean, modern hotel that wins big on location - very short walk to anywhere downtown (and the train station, of course). Spacious bed/shower room as well.

City centre hotel close to railway station.
Relaxed atmosphere in this modern city centre hotel. Brilliant buffet breakfast with lots of choices including warm homemade Madeleines! No hesitation in recommending.

Shitty Mercure, tiny room, awful view, no charm
Dripping shower woke me at 2am, had to tie a towel around the shower head. Tiny room, could not swing a cat, lumpy pillows, crusty sheets and tiny dry towels. In need of some TLC or just know the thing down and start again. Poor. Very poor.

Great hotel!
Stayed in Nantes one night. Murcure Center was fantastic. Comfy room, great amnesties, warm staff, and outstanding breakfast. Worth the extra €. Close to light rail and walkable to city center and the island. We’ll be back for our next trip to Nantes!

The hotel remedied a mistake on their behalf over the room booked - but it took an hour to finally get what we paid for. I think providing only paper cups and plastic glasses in the room a little mean.

Excellent location if you need the railway station
Could be a nice hotel close to railway station but so much work being done at the station would not recommend at the moment. Room fine, with window shut you hear nothing so good. Shower lovely but poor design on door means floods the floor. Air conditioning hopeless ( reported ). Good in communal areas but awful in bedroom which made for bad nights sleep. Breakfast very good

Great location if arriving by train.
We had picked the location as we knew our arrival would be late evening. As our train was very late (1.30 in the morning), our stay was quite short. We were however made very welcome when we did arrive. It was only a short walk from the south side of the station. Nice view of the river when we woke the next day.It was also very close to the car rental depot (3 min. walk) for collecting our hire car the next morning.

Not the Mercure I'm use to
My 1st stay in 4 days was the 18th April 2018. I had a superior room this night, very clean, mini bar included (water, sodas, juice). Separate toilet to bathroom (bonus!) bathroom had xlnt lighting unlike the rest of the room that had poor lighting even with all the lights on and one lamp globe not working. Again air-conditioning not working (reading other reviews a problem for a number of years) staff look bemused when you tell them but unlike our other room 24 nights later I was able to open the window and let the room cool down. definitely not the same Mercure standards as we have in Australia.
