In all honesty, what we agreed to was not what happened. Our guests were always supposed to have access to the front doors. We know where things went wrong.

Front staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially Bal. The elevators were not reliable, only one worked? The shower never got hot, reasonably warm at best. No room service available. No valet/ doorman: would have appreciated it because the front door is a very small street curb pull up. I won’t stay here again or recommend it.

I am sorry that you did not have a great experience. I saw your survey show up on the hotel comment cards too. Its true that the renovations took down a elevator (all rooms are being renovated). Every elevator has been replaced in the last 7 years and we should not be having issues, I guess that is part of renovations. Painful, for everyone. In small cities like Nanaimo many services like room service, bellman/ valet no longer exist. They went and have not returned post pandemic. Its not as if we don't miss the days where these services exist, we do. when costs are growing faster than rates, something needs to give.

The property appeared to be under renovation and should be much improved upon completion. However, the plumbing was a problem - both the bath and sink backed up water almost immediately - and the beds were not very comfortable.

We absolutely love this hotel! Spent our wedding night here. The staff (special mention to Anita) made our stay wonderful! Our room was romantic and incredible overlooking the harbour.

Our room was nice (recently upgraded), however, the view was unpleasant. It overlooked the roof of the 2nd floor gym and had quite a bit of rubbish. I don't recall receiving awareness, but it would have been nice to know about the ongoing daily noise from the construction within the building. In spite of all of this, the food & staff at the restaurant was incredible 10/10! And the care and assistance provided by Jane (front desk) was above & beyond. She came up to assist us with our tv, spoke about the improvements to the hotel, gave us recommendations to visit while in the Comox Valley and is the reason we will definitely return to this hotel. She demonstrated empathy and patience while we spoke about our terrible view and went out of her way to improve our time at the hotel. Her passion for the hotel, the city and the visitors is unmatched. My husband and I travel extensively both for personal & business purposes and don't find many people like Jane. She is a gem. Thank you, Jane.

We loved our stay. The staff were very friendly, professional and accommodating. Bed was too soft for my wife yet perfect for myself. The only thing that frightened my wife was the walk to the parking because of the continuous transient activity in the area.
