"Quiet and older onsen by the river and train tracks in Gero onsen town. A shuttle service is providing certain hours, but we opted to walk to the resort from the train station. After a hot bath I recommend having a nice cold milk from the vending machines. Staff was friendly, room was clean, and it was fun to try the dinner/breakfast. Some instructions and info on how and what we were eating would have been nice but not knowing is a fun part of that experience! Thank you for having us!"

"This is a great onsen experience. Great service and friendly staff. The baths are good and clean, and the kaiseki food is fantastic. Building is a bit old, but the traditional rooms were comfortable and atmospheric. Would go again!"

"Very old property and looked tired. Curiously the lift did not go to the 2nd floor where our room was so the 80 year olds had to haul ourselves and luggage up and down a set of steep stairs. Also the bottom sheet of our bed was too small. Nowhere to hang anything. Was the worst hotel of our 4 weeks stay in Japan."
