chill relaxed
A truly relaxing hotel ,peacfull,beautiful location ,the food at the resturant was truley amazing ,staff were also so helpfull and tentative to any needs you may have.its a place to chill and look at the natural beauty of the mekong river with montains in the back ground. Rooms nice clean,bed was amazing , cant fault the place or the people.

An oasis of peace
This hotel was a welcome relief from the noise of other hotels where we had stayed. We enjoyed our three days here, although there were lots of glitches and irritating problems along the way. We were just glad to be in a beautiful location which was quiet. The location is stunning and, whilst the breakfast was limited, the internet dropped out a few times, the service was patchy and the English speaking capability of staff is highly problematic, you'll still have a great time here. Each day the hotel organises a trip. We took the sunset cruise and was happy with it. We loved seeing the water buffalo too. To understand the hotel and avoid frustration just know that this is a very good 3 star hotel in a 5 star location. If you book with this in mind you won't be disapointed.

Preservation of its historical importance is an added bonus. The property is secluded, quite and has one of the best views on Luangprabang. Would definitely return. My only complaint is the shuttle to town and airport is not on schedule and available when needed. Had to call for a taxi service.

A Grand Old Lady
What a lovely old Grand Lady. Hey, its not perfect but quaint. A fabulous location. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner here. All superb. The views above the Mekong are worth every cent. Would definitely stay again.

Great Hotel
We had a very comfortable stay at The Grand Luang Prabang. The room was very nice, amazing views, good breakfast and lunch, shuttle service to and from the Main Street, relaxing pool, and very friendly and helpful staff.

We spend 5 days at this resort,we had a wonderful time,the location is perfect,right on the river with amazing views from our room,specially in the early morning,just sitting outside and enjoy the river view. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast buffet is brilliant! We highly recommend this resort ,if you want to stay in the quiet part of Luang Prabang away from the main town,it only takes 5 minutes in a motorcycle tuk tuk or the free van shuttle the resort provides to the centre,when you there,there are plenty of nice restaurants and bars and excellent coffeehouses. The Grand Luang Prabang hotel
Very nice hotel in terms of service, rooms and location. Free breakfast service and quality was pretty good too. Lunch and dinner prices are a little expensive, it was cheaper to go into town to eat dinner.

Lovely Hotel with Great Service - Very Peaceful
A great hotel and great service. A lovely location base 4km from the town - very peaceful. Had a suite overlooking The Mekong with a lovely terrace. Would highly recommend an evening meal at the hotel if you don’t want to venture into town. Great place and one I would recommend.

While the location on the river is beautiful, everything else about this hotel is disappointing. The customer service is horrible, the property is ageing and in need of repairs, we were charged extra for a second bed despite the reservation being for 3 people, things weren’t as discribed on the website (no water buffaloes ever roamed the grounds during our stay, the nightly boat to downtown wasn’t available when we inquired, etc). In short, we will be back to visit Luang Prabang but we will not return to this hotel.

Beautiful Hotel Exceptional Setting needs refresh
Amazing georgraohical and historical setting, rooms have a great colonial taste. Great logistics, easy to get into town with their nearby drivers. Could refresh the rooms in particular the bathrooms, not matching a 5* standing. Also the pool is big but the area a bit neglected.

Amazing location with signature views of the Mekong River. The whole facility is beautifully set in the landscape. The staff is courteous and helpful. But the rooms and the bathrooms should use a remodeling. The furniture is rather old, there are no king-size beds but two beds put together, the lights switches behind the bed are very inconvenient and the bathroom had a sewer smell. But overall it was still a beautiful and memorable experience staying there.

Ok but a bit expensive for its value
A quiet resort away from town, but for the price we paid, the breakfast wasn't very good, the shower pressure was low (and the hot water didn't work well) and the walls were quite thin that we could always hear people talking when they walked along the corridor. They were sweet to leave cookies on Christmas eve though...

Lovely location a bit away from downtown
Beautiful property with location just next to Mekong river. The room was good and staff was good. The only con I would say was that the property was a little away from the downtown so you would have to rely on tuk-tuk or taxi to get back n forth. The hotel has free shuttle for this.

This hotel is located next to the Mekong River. It is a very beautiful at night and has various shuttle services. The staffs were well versed in English and were attentive to my needs. It is located away from the busy downtown area which is good for a peaceful and quite stay. I highly recommend it.

Very comfortable bed and beautiful views!
Beautiful hotel. Staff was fantastic and all around details are done so well. The bed was extremely comfortable! Oh and the view! Just beautiful. Definitely recommend this hotel. It’s a little out of town but they have many shuttles and tuk tuk is cheap.

Great river view hotel
Beautiful hotel. Nice friendly staff. Love the river view. Definitely could use variety in their breakfast, and keep food cover - too many flies on the food. The dinner menu was fantastic.

Everything great except for breakfast.need bacon and cheese and total overall of breakfast concept.less things needed but far better quality.need simple things like pancakes for kids.egg station put in onions when I specifically requested none very clearly.just too much average food.this makes or breaks a hotel!!! Concierge and front staff very helpful.should have free shuttle at all times as hotel is far away and restricts customers.if they had all free all time shuttle this hotel would be full..oh add a few umbrellas as choice for pool deck.lovely pool.just no shade.amazing position.needs need more of a woman's touch to make a big difference.a bit like a museum. Some benches in the gardens would be good.Staff extremely friendly. Main challenge is to turn the breakfast into a more intimate experience of better quality.doesnt have to try to have all options.focus on quality

The kids and i loved the beautiful setting and breakfast was definitely a highlight. The staff are just so happy to help with every request. It's a little further out of town than we would have liked, but the free shuttle bus helps with this.

This hotel is amazing. The staff are friendly, the view of the river is breathtaking and the grounds are beautiful. You'll feel so at peace sitting on your balcony watching the river and listening to the jungle. I highly recommend!

Great place to relax
This is an outstanding hotel and very well run. Everyone friendly and ready to help - facilities, bar and restaurant to very very high standard. Would come again for sure. t is ten minutes into town by complimenary minibus, but dont let that sway your choice - the location is just perfect and peacefull - view of Mekong and hills is outstanding. Would definately reccomend and will be back in a few weekstime for another stay.

A quiet oasis outside Luang Prabang
Wonderful hotel and quiet oasis a little outside Luang Prabang but still easy to go to town thanks to its free shuttle service. Wonderful pool, even though we missed some shady areas (umbrellas etc).

Pleasant gem in Luang Prabang
We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Luang Prabang. While it was a 10 min ride from the city center, hotel's shuttle service made things much easier. Breakfast, pool and overall service were all top knotch. We would come back to Luang Prabang just for the hotel!

Beautiful French colonial style resort. Tasteful and clean room. Spectacular river view from the restaurant. Breakfast setup was very nice but quality and variation need to improve. WiFi didn’t work most of time.

Grand hotel not grand
This is not a 4 or 5 stars hotel despite its grandiose picture advertised online. It’s a huge place but everything looks old and not very well kept. The most important part of a luxury hotel is service and they have no concept of service. Most staff members speak little English and cannot offer assistance. My wife was ill and it was like pulling teeth to get help to get to a pharmacy. It’s also isolated and far from town with nothing to do there.

It is classic hotel with nice view of the Mekong River. The garden is big and very beautiful which makes us feel very relaxable to stay and walk around with fresh air. We are enjoyable to staying here and the staffs are very good service .

Beautiful resort; staff needs business training
It’s a beautiful hotel, but we had quite a few issues at check in. First, my husband and I were placed in a connecting room with a family that had screaming kids and a baby. The door between us was so thin - we could every word they were saying. I went to reception and asked them why on earth of all rooms to put us in, they put us into a connecting room with a family. The toilet also didn’t work. They then move us to a room with twin beds... so I get annoyed because why didn’t they prep the room before we got there? I pushed the beds together myself with my husband. After we get settled in, reception shows us saying they have an upgrade for us to a room with a king bed. This is great and I appreciated it, but why didn’t they do that BEFORE we got settled into the 2nd room. The staff said they had to call the manager to see if it was okay - this should’ve been done immediately when we’d complained the first time. So we then moved to our THIRD room. Otherwise, the rooms were nice. Bed was comfy. View is beautiful.

Quiet retreat by the Mekong River Bank
Great room, decent service, breathtaking view of the Mekong. Great staff, but a few glitches with the facilities. One time, found cigarette butts all over the dining area toilet seat. The pool was out of order and looked like it had not been cleaned for a month. Otherwise a great place to stay.
