Les Lavandes is an excellent base for excursions within the local area. "Located outside the castle walls but in a nice location near restaurants and cafes. It is a lovely old hotel but beware it has no elevator and a windy staircase. They did have someone to carry our luggage up and down. Unfortunately we left our backpack with our luggage in the room and the gentleman at the desk was not happy about that. So I guess that is not okay. It is a short walk up to the castle which is a must see. "
