Loved this stay. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Showers and bathroom were very clean. I had the bottom bunk and I can say it was very comfortable. Unfortunately I had to deal with a very loud snorer next to me but that's normal for a hostel lol. Other guests were social and made for a fun stay. Will definitely stay here again!

Everything is ok but the shower. You have to push a lever for the water to come out for like 10 seconds. So you have to be constantly pushing for the water to come out. Very troublesome.

very close to the kyoto station. doesn't provide hand towel. bed sheet and quilt are not very clean.

Quiet, nice and cozy place. 5mins walk to Kyoto station and nearby bus stop. Definitely worth the price.

Convenient location and friendly staffs
It’s very near the Kyoto station and easy to find the hostel,a lot of food choices and shopping, getting around is very easy too,staffs are friendly and will help for your request,will stay here again.

Very friendly front desk. There were three of us in a 6-bunkbed room, we gotten Sakura room which was right in front of the shared bathroom/basin, very convenient for my aged mum for bathroom visits. Only downside was most rooms were on level two and three, there were no lifts. :( There’s sukiyaki just 20metres away, great for late night meals/supper!

Brief trip to Kyoto
Really good trip to Kyoto, a couple of days seeing sights in the city and a night out in Osaka Really clean private room in the ryokan style, v friendly and helpful staff, very good facilities for this sort of accommodation. Many thanks!

Nice place. But don't expect to meet and mingle with other travelers in this hostel. The common area is not really set up to meet and mingle.

Absolutely recommended
Excellent value for money. Don't expect to have views on Kyoto tower but you will certainly remain satisfied by your choise!

Kyoto Hana Hostel
Walking distance from Kyoto station but needed help to find the street it was on but once you get there, it was easy to navigate. Staff were very helpful. Buy the bus pass here before you head out so you are set for the day. I would book here again.

Location is very handy to the central train station, you can get to the hostel almost entirely underground. Rooms are small but have everything you need including cupboard for luggage and separate toilet and private shower.

Clean hostel for short stay
Staff are incredibly pleasant and are some of the best English speaking staff we encountered the whole trip! I don’t usually stay at hostels but due to many hotels being incredibly expensive that day, stayed here. Japanese Style Room with private bathroom was very clean, and well maintained. No bugs (except one spider but those are the good kind of bug). Tatami mats made for the best sleep. Downside was that the room had a slight smell and felt a bit damp. Very doable for a short stay.

Fantastic! A must stay!
This has been the best stay out of all the cities we've visited in Japan on this trip. I'd rank this higher than even the temple stay and the hotel stay in Tokyo and Osaka! We stayed in a private Japanese style private room. The weather was at 30'C so we really appreciated the air conditioning unit in the room. The bath tub was extremely welcoming after long days of trekking about. The communal areas were sparkling clean and were very well appointed with multiple cooking units, grills, microwaves, coffee machines etc. Although the facilities were wonderful, it was the reception staff who really made our stay fantastic. Kotaro helped us with recommendations of where to eat, how to send our luggage onto our next destination and so many other things. Their friendliness is so welcoming when visiting Kyoto!

What can i say. Excellent hostel in a very nice area, close to Kyoto station, close to tge main areas and in a quiet street, very clean, very friendly. My first time in Kyoto and i wasnt sure how it was going to be, turn out perfect. 5 stars.

The male staff at front counter help a lot where i ask for the places to visit and direction how to go. Staff here can speak english very well. Even many people staying here, but the toilet and washroom still available, not so crowded

Good location. Suitable for ppl like tatami bed.
We booked a room with private bath. It was very cozy Japanese style room. The bath and toilet were ok but the bed - basically was just a set of bedding put on top of tatami - was really hard and uncomfortable. I think it would be fine for ppl like hard bed. I can't stand it anyway. The location is very good, 10 min walking distance to Kyoto station.
