This is a beautiful property and we felt very spoilt to share it for a night. Overall the start are very gracious and accommodating. The check in however felt rushed. This was our first time at an onsen and we felt overwhelmed with the venue and proper protocols.

Comfortable stay with a great view and spacious room. They provide a shuttle bus to Arima Onsen station.

This place seems to be old, but they have the best hot springs. Rooms are large so are all the corridors. Perfect quiet place to spend 2-3 days of relaxing getaway.

second stay
this is our second stay. This time we had meal included. We paid more per room than last time. Maybe winter is peak season. But we didn't get the room with the view as last time. Our room was partially facing the parking lot. The cleanness and the hot spring are both as excellent as before. The service is ok but they don't speak English and they are very strict about check-in and check-out time. The dinner was ok. The sashimi was not very fresh but the rest was ok. The bedding of Japanese futon was very comfortable.

Excellent onsen
The hotel is well built out with excellent hot spring facilities. Big room, sumptuous meals. The golden hot spring is a must try for those who choose to stay in Arima.

Unfortunately we did not have a very good experience and I think our expectations were set high because of the good reviews and the high price. Number one, the staff speaks little to no English. We had the cottage room and the air conditioner did not work very well. The food was not very good. In fact, we decided to cancel our breakfast because it was not worth it to us. Of course the receptionist could not understand us so we ignored the phone calls to our room. We ended up leaving a day early because it was not worth for us to waste a day in Japan here. We explained to the receptionist that we were leaving early, paid for our extra fees for drinks... but again the communication was not there. I liked their onsen but it was unfortunate that there were many loud chinese tourists who did not follow proper manners. It was not relaxing. I wish there was an attendant to make sure guests are following rules. *The two elderly gentlemen at dinner service and bartender were very kind.

Wonderful property. The staff and facilities are great. The Kaiseki Dinner and Breakfast is adequate. But a little on the cheaper side. More vegetables and stuff made in mass quantity before being served to you.

Value for Money
The cottage that we stayed was very big and clean. We liked the dinner and breakfast provided at the La Fontaine Restaurant. The Onsen was clean and nice too. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The shuttle service provided was excellent. We have a very good experience at this resort.

Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The lodge we stayed in was very nice and clean. The onsens however are not very big and would be better if there was a bit of outdoor scenery. Overall still a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.
