Front desk never answered and it took a long time to get bedding for the pull out. Also hot water didnt work in the shower. No option to self park. $51 for valet a day!!!! Super expensive hotel for no reason.

It was in a great location, there was different events going on throughout the week, live music, a little pool party and yoga in the morning which I really enjoyed! I loved being able to walk to the Main Street to the restaurants, bars and fancy shops. The breakfast options were relatively small but that was fine for me. The pool was a nice size and there were always sunbed available, all of the double sunbeds seemed to be reserved every single day but no one was on them..I assumed people just paid for them and then didn't sit on them, which would have been really frustrating if there wasn't any of the regular free sunbeds available. Our bedroom rooms were a really nice size and the bathrooms were great. Sometimes it took a little while to get hot water come through the shower but eventually it did. The TV's in the rooms were great, we linked up our Netflix so we could watch movies on there, I thought this was a massive perk! Our bedrooms didn't get cleaned for a few days but after speaking to the reception they was able to sort this out for us. All the staff here were really nice, they was always happy which made our days even better. I'd highly recommend this hotel.

We liked the view of the ocean from the balcony. Room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. The thing i didnt like was the fact that there is no ice machines and you have to contact the front desk for a small bag.

The property it really nice staff and service it’s good,parking fee it’s really expensive, beach it’s kind of far , the resort fee that they charge it’s a little expensive they don’t have a bar it’s just a car with drinks and it’s only for a few hours, chair and umbrella needs to be return by five it was a little overprice for my test.

Our experience at Romer Waikiki was refreshing from start to finish. We like the cleanliness and modernity of the facilities. The room was comfortable and well-maintained. Plus, the convenience of being able to walk to Waikiki and shopping malls within 15 minutes was a definite bonus, adding to the overall enjoyment of our experience.

We stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed our stay. The location was great due to being walking distance from all the local shops, restaurants and Waikiki beach. The inside of the room definitely looked remodeled and fresh. For the price we would definitely consider staying again. The beds were large and comfortable and they supplied the essentials from shampoo, conditioner body wash and liquid hand soap which was better than bar soap. We had a nice partial ocean view from the 15th floor. The staff we encountered were all friendly and helpful. The welcome drinks offered is beer on tap and could really use another option for those of us that don’t drink beer. Now the other reviews are right, the soundproofing isn’t the greatest. We could hear when our neighbors would open and close their balcony doors or talking in the halls and shutting the doors. There is construction going on not too far so that could be heard early in the morning and the Saturday pool party was a little too loud.

We Loved our stay at the Romer. The staff was so personable - the front desk person who checked our family in even texted after our first day to check in on everything. The hotel was nice and chic - it felt like a boutique hotel though it actually had a lot of rooms. Breakfast was AMAZING! Some of the best food we had on the island. Do not sleep on that papaya bowl. Also, I loved the focus on the Romer being a “neighborhood hotel.” They often had live music or entertainment that felt really genuine/local & fun. They offered discounts at neighborhood businesses and free beach rentals. Great value! Very comfy beds. Quick walk to the beach. Would definitely return!!

We’re so happy we chose The Romer Waikiki for our honeymoon! Location: the location is the part we appreciated the most. We were able to explore more of the island because of that; it’s just outside the main stretch of Waikiki hotels, so it’s conveniently located but not swarming with tourists. The stop for The Bus into Honolulu is located right outside, it was so easy to jump on a bus and go explore! In one direction is Waikiki; completely walkable distance, stores and shops on the way into the heart of the area. Then walking in the other direction there’s an ABC store right on the corner, then further up a sweet cafe with vegan malasadas, and a 7-11 with yummy Hawaiian snacks and hot food - cheap breakfast! Room: clean!! Super cute with a huge bathroom, comfy bed, and enclosed lanai with a table and chairs for two - we could see the ocean from our room! Service: Everyone was so lovely and kind. No issues, and they were very very helpful. We had a late flight and the valet was able to keep our luggage safe the whole day. Tip: their water bottles are uniquely shaped and we had to get one - my husband loves it!

Staff was helpful. The location is great not in the heart of the Waikiki downtown area but just a block or two away. We got peace and quiet and proximity to shopping and beaches.

Enjoyed our room but our carpet was dirty which really hurts the overall quality of the room. Love the layout of the hotel and the open, social areas — fabulous! Breakfast food was expensive for the Quality of what we got. Staff was good and fairly responsive until the last 24 hours of our stay. Our room wasn’t cleaned until9:30pm! Then we requested an iron & ironing board that never came. Lastly, our keys stopped working two hours prior to checkout time. The young lady at the front desk did end up reversing two nights’ resort fees for the screwups though.

Needs MAJOR upgrade! It's old and dingy looking. Pictures are misleading. The lobby is awkward & its nit very retro to me. It needs a deep cleaning and paint and replacement of rugs and several other fixtures. The price you pay is absolutely too high for the quality/accomodations. Also, the daily valet parking rate is INSANE!! They need to provide parking for their customers & guests. Our check-in was a terrible experience until one sweet professional young lady who in my opinion should be the manager (she was just that good) really took the time to sort things out and give us our correct room. We had to wait 24 hrs but at least she made that part right. There are no perks here. Would not recommend this hotel and I definitely would not stay there again! The young lady who gave us exceptional service was a blessing! Sadly, I forgot her name. I'm sorry!! She was Asian descent and please forgive me having to remember her that way. I pray that management knows who I am referring to & that they reward her & guve her an increase in position and pay. Her mindset, actions, attention, attitude, kindness, professionalism, and outstanding attention to customers & detail, is what saved our stay!! Thank you!!

Nice guestroom, but it could use some insulation.
I enjoyed my stay at Romer. The rooms we're newly renovated so everything in the guestroom was new, clean and functional. That said, the insulation was terrible. I was able to hear all the service team working in the morning and doors opening and shutting. I could also hear the neighboring room, which is awkward. I tried to keep my TV volume down as to not bother. It's about a 12 min walk to the main stuff in downtown Waikiki, so be aware of that. Would I stay there again. Yes.

Property was walkable distance from shopping areas and restaurants. Staff were friendly from the front desk crew, to parking attendees, to the household staff . Service was nothing out of their ordinary responsibilities and duties. Facilities is poor. Cleanliness was also poor. Amenities were not all available as it was advertised. Our last night, my gf woke up with bite marks. According to their findings, no bedbugs or dust mites were found.

Me and the bf had stayed here for quite a long time about 13 days back in November. Location is good and is walkable to the main area of Waikiki. When we arrived we noticed there wasn’t a microwave in the room and asked if we could receive one in the beginning of the trip and also an extra luggage holder since we will be staying there for an extended amount of time, sadly we didn’t received any of these things even though we had asked a couple times. The room itself was nice and clean but definitely a little cramped. We had a corner room with the lanai that was L shaped so that was awesome to have views of the mountains and partial view of ocean/city. The pool area was nice and they offered food and drinks to purchase at the pool. They also had some amenities like free beach chairs or beach items that you could rent from beach candy which was on the opposite side of Waikiki but you had to return it before they closed which was 5pm. It would’ve been a great perk if the hotel itself had beach chairs to lend out. At the time their gym was under construction so we had to walk 15-20mins to Alohilani resort to use their gym which was fine because their gym was super nice. Overall I would probably stay here if my stay was shorter but long term (ie. more than 7 days) I would probably choose somewhere that had a little more space and microwave.

Why is there no ice machine for guest to get ice? I had to text daily to get ice and 3/4 times it took almost 1 hr for my ice to get to me. Also when I tried to call the front desk to ask about my ice, the phone in the room is not working and my text was unanswered 2x in a span of over an hour! So frustrating! The room says free coffee downstairs. nope!! Not free! Expedia says free bike…NOPE! No bikes! I would not stay here again.

We had a lovely time during our stay at the Romer. The old Ambassador hotel has been refurbished into a neighborhood gem. There was a lot of time and effort put into this transformation and the result is a taste of old Hawai’i—how refreshing to see. We wish this was more of a theme in Waikiki. There were a few minor issues that we noticed during our stay. One, there wasn’t a decent sized trash/rubbish bin in our rooms. Only tiny small ones in the bath. This made it difficult for us to dispose of our larger items. Luckily, we were right next to the trash chute so we were able to throw larger things away without too much hassle, however, it would have been nice to have a large rubbish bin in our room for the convenience. Secondly, my husband went for a swim in the pool in the morning and came face to face with a floating half eaten slice of pizza. Not sure what to say there, but pretty gross. Third, the bathroom was extremely noisy. The vent/dehumidifier was on 24/7 with no way of turning it off. We could hear it from most areas throughout, but still a minor issue considering. Other than those three things, we had a lovely stay. The staff was excellent and so very welcoming. The common areas were lovely and comfortable. A great place to relax while enjoying your surroundings. We look forward to returning in the future and will spread the word in the meantime.
