"This is definitely a higher end hotel, but it is still "affordable". The location is excellent and quiet. It is not in the middle of shopping and dining, but many shrines and temples are within walking distance. A subway station is only 2 minutes from the hotel, so you can go anywhere. There is also a hotel shuttle to drop you off at a couple of locations, but pick up is only from Kyoto station - about every 30 minutes. The breakfast option is outstanding and you should try it. The onsen is very very nice. We paid for the "view" but we ended up using very little of the "view" because we were out all day in the city already, and there were "views" everywhere already. But a room with a view does have a small balcony so if you like that, it is worth it. I will stay there again for sure. "

"We had stayed in this property 6 years ago just after it had first opened. Coming back we were pleasantly surprised that it was still a really great and it was almost like new. The staff were really helpful with restaurant bookings and general advice. It’s also great to have the onsen inside the hotel after a long days walking.
