This Hotel was the gem back in 1993 when I used to entertain my business guest in the night club. Though property is getting old, it still was a very pleasant stay for my wife and I. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Staff English skills are so poor that communication is not possible. The hotel as a whole is a good hotel, but the room I stayed in was noticeably old, with the wallpaper stained and partially peeling, and even the toilet seat in the bathroom was peeling in color. The shower curtain also smelled bad and was not very pleasant. There is nothing to see around the hotel, and it is not fun to take a walk. The hotel calls it a lake, but the adjoining lake is a pond that looks like a dirty pool of water, like a ditch. However, this is Vietnam, so if you expect something too beautiful, you will be disappointed. This is the reality of Vietnam.

Nice and clean rooms
Stayed 3 nights on a business trip. My room was in the new tower, and everything was clean and nice. Plenty of power outlets and USB charging ports. The breakfast menu was a bit limited, but the food was delicious enough.The staff were particularly nice and helpful. The WiFi was quite fast everywhere in the hotel.

It was okay, but nothing special
Location was decent. Lots of cheap eateries outside. It's in the city so things are very accessible. Rooms are clean and staff are attentive. However, the check in process was kind of a mess as there were too many people trying to check everyone in at the same time. However, this hotel is just okay, it's not a luxury hotel or anything like that.

Hanoi Hotel. classic but modernity in Mind
It may be a long trip to the old quarters from here depending on traffic. Fortunately the hotel has many activities inside for entertainment.Also, there are luxury restaurants situated in the same street. If your the fast food foodie type, there is also Domino's Pizza and the world famous Burger King a few minutes around the corner nearby.

The people at the hotel were wonderful and the food and coffee were great. However, my room smelled a bit musty and the windows cannot be opened. Additionally there is a major problem with noise. Every morning at 5am a women's group plays EXTREMELY LOUD techno music and exercises outside this hotel at the lake. Every morning. Even weekends. I was on the 11th floor and could not sleep through it. It's very loud and waaaaayy too early for techno. :(

Their background music woke me up!
Have you been waken up by "Silent Night" before? Their 'alarm clock' was the hotel's background music early in the morning around 7am. Staff on the frontline typically didn't care if the music is switch on or what volume it may be. When we were there, the visual decor was present but the silence was deafening too. After our feedback, the music was switched on. It was the only time that I regretted asking the hotel to switch on their pipe-in music because they lack control. As the different Christmas music was streamed (likely downloaded from different sources), "Silent Night" spiked up in volume among the playlist and it was booming outside the room along the corridor. Volume wasn't equalized for the tracks. Of all tracks, it has to be the song "Silent Night" that we (*yes i wasn't the only one...my 2 other business associates staying on DIFFERENT floors) woke up to.

reasonable 4 star hotel for low price
reasonable 4 star hotel with low price. Overall, the hotel looks a little bit old, but room is maintained well. Considering the price, it is reasonable 4 star hotel if you are visiting Hanoi for business. I recommend for business stay in Hanoi with reasonable price.
