The check in person was nice. That was the one positive. That was it. The place is falling apart. The "swipe to enter" outside door entry was gone -- so anyone could walk in a back door at any time. The hallway floors were buckling -- DANGEROUS trip hazard! The window blinds do not meet in the middle, (and with no curtains) meaning any peeping tom could look into my first-floor room. And the smell -- part rot, part mold, all gross. Stay far away from this place.

The outside could be fixed up a little. The room was nice and clean. No food was available as the restaurant was closed. The staff was very nice and friendly.

Staff is always friendly, and even had our heat on in the room when we arrived. Rooms are clean and a fair price. Plus they take pets. (Going through a remodel, but not intrusive)

We did not stay because the hotel was not anything like the picture and the lady was very much on drugs and I ask her you could advertise a place this she told me to get out i didn't used any bad language l wanted know what my information she kept telling me to get out she was going to call the police i told her to go ahead and the gentleman in the room there had a ice pick in one hand and a beer in the other hand when I was leaving she told us not to let the door to hit us in the ass.i have pictures of the out side of the bulding.we felt very unsafe there

I was leery reading other reviews but it was fine. Older property but clean. Comfortable nights sleep. Desk clerk was very friendly. The signage is not good so we had to double back. Very good price.

This was the absolute worst place we stayed on our long trip across the US. First, it was difficult to find the hotel as the only sign was the letters on the marquee. Apparently the hotel had once been a Clarion but the large visible sign had not been changed to say Hotel Veranda. It did not look like the photographs (different colors). We were sent around the back of the property to park... it was a bit creepy and there were big potholes all over the pavement. The back door didn't lock. When we walked into the hallway, we were shocked to see the wall paper bubbled up on the walls, the flooring missing or loose (didn't see the piece of paper on the door that they were having problems keeping the floor down until the next morning... it was rolled up). Many of the ceiling tiles clearly had water damage, including one in our bathroom. The room was clean enough. Clearly you get what you pay for.

This property is not as advertised. Based on the holes in the roof and disrepair that could be seen on the outside and overall poor condition I did not check in. I called the front desk and talked to a rude individual. Beware this property. The pictures are false advertising and Expedia should remove this property from their portfio

I wish I could say I was exaggerating. My dad went into the lobby in the middle of the night and there was water dripping from the ceiling onto the employee’s computer. There were other area throughout the hall where the ceiling was “drippy.” Holes in the ceiling and walls, terrible water damage throughout. restaurant and general store are shut down. We chose this place because it was half the price of everything around it and we were in town for a funeral. Just wanted a place to rest for the night. The good news is, if you can make it through the musty, creepy hallway, the room itself wasn’t terrible. Could have been a great motel in its heyday, but now, I’m surprised they’re allowed to stay open.

It was dirty and smelled like cigarette smoke and the entry in the parking lot had cigarette buts everywhere. The appearance of the motel was very run down, like grass growing in the parking lot and pot holes. Some of the drapes were open and we could see the rooms were messy . We felt unsafe

I was hesitant about the place when I checked in. The lobby, staircase, halls, and room was filthy. The blanket on the bed was old, dirty looking, and torn. I turned on the hot water in the bathroom and rusty water came out of the spigot. I left the room and asked for a refund at the front desk. I was told to contact the manager. Called the manager and credit card company and explained why I want refunded. Continue to wait to be reimbursed for the room.

Ok but no great. Probably not going to stay there.
Okay first of the room was clean but it stated in the information about the room that it included a mini refrigerator and a coffee pot. Neither one was available and I was told that only some rooms had refrigerators and the only coffee pot was a small one in the reception area. We were in a non smoking room but to get to our room the hallway smelled of smoke. It also mentioned room service but they have no kitchen. All in all it was useable but far from what I expected. I know this isn’t a big deal but there was no classes to be able to drink or brush your teeth and good luck finding anything on TV since there was no instruction or channel guide. So like I said it was barely adequate and definitely subpar.

Ummm..I’d hate to see what a two star looks like. Don’t bring your girl here. Place is seriously run down. You’d have to pay me to stay another night there. Did not set foot in the shower or go barefoot anywhere. Hotel interior is not key guarded. Hallway stench was gross. Bring your sense of humor and you will get through it.

The outside of the building did not even look like a hotel that was operating. Everything inside of the hotel was closed. There was no ice machines, no refrigerator, or coffee pot in the room. The windows in the room was very dirty that you could not even see outside.

Disgusting. Smelled like rat urine. The place is run down and looks nothing like the picture on the internet. I would not recommend it to anyone and Hotels.com should remove it from their site.

Giving this place a 1 star rating is way too generous, this place was so bad, we couldn't even stay there, bugs, dirty, numerous loose floor tiles in the hall and lobby alone. I am not sure how or why this property is even on a site like Expedia. Not only was the staff rude, the "hotel"? was a complete dump, advertised as with a pool there was a cover on the outside pool that has been on for quite some time, the inside & outside of this place is a disaster (AVOID AT ALL COSTS), I wouldn't let an enemy stay here let alone my family. A park bench would be a much better choice to stay at. As I was leaving and returning the card keys, I told her a few of my feelings about the hotel, she told me to go to hell, I told her I'm just leaving hell now as I walked out the door.

There appears to have been a struggle.
The hotel is not as advertised. The exterior is so scary looking that I almost drove away. The desk service was okay. When I parked near my room, I could see through the windows of other rooms that there were piles of lamps and mattresses and other furniture literally to the ceiling. It made me expect that a post-apocalyptic zombie movie could be filmed on location here. The exterior door was not locked, and the hallways reeked of cigarette smoke. Surprisingly, the room was in fairly good condition. However, when I moved the shower curtain, an empty packet of shampoo and a spider fell out of it into the tub. The site refers to a pool; it’s actually closed, but it looks like it must have been lovely once. The restaurant, lounge, and recreation room are all closed, and various debris is piled up in front of them. In short, the overall style can be described as “there appears to have been a struggle.” I thought I was getting a bargain, but I actually think I got less than I paid for. The staff (2 people) were pleasant enough, but it looks like they’re fighting a losing battle with this business.
