We were given a room on the main floor. The bedroom and bathroom were really small and cramped, which is fine except the bedroom wall was connect s to a theatre/cinema. There was a loud action movie until midnight so we had to endure extremely loud noise and sounds like tanks and drums in the room. When we complained, the friendly desk person was honest and shared that the hotel is connected to a theatre and they know this is an issue, but “it is something we have to live with”! We thought we shouldn’t have to live with it when we are paying so much for the room, but there was nothing we can do and it was too late to find another place. Sure enough, around 12:15 am the noise stopped. We were the choice to go to the third floor, but the hotel has no elevator and we were too exhausted to carry our luggage upstairs.
Despite these issues, the staff was kind and wonderful, the breakfast buffet that was included In the price was helpful given how expense Iceland is, and the location was great.
