The owners are very nice and accommodating, yet too relaxed for me.
There were 3 bars of used soap on the dish when we arrived (and 3 q-tips on the floor next to the tub). We asked for the soap to be removed and the area cleaned, but they stayed there until we checked out. Yet I asked and was told "no worries".
You cannot throw TP down toilet, yet the garbage isn't cleaned often (in the room or on the 1st floor). Everything else in the room was fine.
It is not enough to have a nice hotel, relaxed environment, with kind owners if you are staying in a less than hygienic bathroom.
Also, the tuk tuk driver, who works at hotel, who took us to the temples on the first day was professional and waited for us, always in the look out when we finished tired. However, the second day another driver who worked at the hotel was nowhere to be found when we left the first temple. As a result we had to go around looking for him, in the hot sun, and then had to pay a guy to help us look and then take us home. We never made it back to Angkor Wat. He didn't seem too concerned when he got a call from the owner to return. The owner wasn't apologetic either.
Basically as nice as the staff is, they're too relaxed. I know it's hot, but no need to sleep on the job or be so relaxed that customer service lacks.
Also, let's clean up a bit. Take the trash out. Make sure the rooms are cleaned with more frequency.
