I selected the property because of its proximity to transit and other locations we’d visit during our stay. It hit each expectation of those things perfectly. Property was clean, great authentic local food nearby and even a grocery store. Staff was nice and greeted us each time we entered no matter time of day. My only complaint would be room configuration. This was our 2nd visit to Paris and we knew space was a must this time around. We opted to upgrade to the Deluxe Double at 280sq ft. We received one I think but its layout made the space still very cramped and useless. Unhappy with that after paying $100 more per night felt like it was wasted.

I loved my stay at the Grand Hotel Lafayette. Jonasse and the rest of the staff were very accommodating and friendly. I had breakfast once; there were many options, and the food was pretty good. However, I felt that housekeeping could do better with cleaning the shower. Other than that, I loved everything. I’ll definitely stay there again.

Upon arrival I was charged for the room even though I had paid Expedia 2 months prior. I paid the city tax but didn’t realize till after that I was charged also for 5 nights stay. The following day I told them the error and was told the person at reception had made a mistake. When refunded it was at a lower exchange rate so I still had overpaid. I am waiting for the difference but had to give bank details so they can deposit the difference which I am uncomfortable with. Also there were numerous tiny black spiders on the tiles under sink and I found a few in my bed. I told reception and they cleaned it and put some product. I didn’t do their breakfast. I would have liked to know that I could still partake of free coffee and tea in the lobby breakfast area 24 hours a day. Communication extremely poor. Location excellent and many good restaurants within easy short walking distance.
