イギリスのホテル
駅からは遠くて歩くと20分位かかります。 343番バスに乗れば停留所のすぐそばにホテルと同名のパブがあります。レセプションはパブの中で13時から21時です。 elephant & castleの駅にはたくさんバスルートがあるので初めての時はホテルから駅まで乗ってみるのがお勧めです。 ホテル前のバス停から42番はタワーブリッジにいくので観光に便利でした。 部屋に洗面台があること、ミニ冷蔵庫、テレビがあるのは良かったです。 イギリスらしく昔からある建物で階段は狭めです。シャワーのお湯の温度が日本人にとってはぬるめでした。色んな時間に入ってみましたが夜中は水圧が低いような…。 色んな意味でイギリスっぽいホテルだなと思いました。

なかなか良かったです。
駅から少し遠いのが難点。思いバックを持って歩いて行くのは大変だがバス停が近くにあるのでバスに乗れるのなら大丈夫。ホテル周辺は学校がすぐ近くに２校もあり暗くなってからうろつかなければあまり危険は感じない。ホテルの部屋は若干狭いが冷蔵庫やテレビもありタオルも交換してくれる。共同シャワーやトイレは毎日綺麗にしてくれているので不潔感は無い。共同キッチンにはコーヒーや紅茶が置いてあり、ＩＨ調理器や電子レンジ、オーブンもある。簡単な調理は可能。１Fのバーからビール等も持ってくることが出来る。

気になった点 : 施設のコンディションと設備
最寄り駅からたどり着くにも一苦労
　チェックインは通常22時までですが、飛行機の遅れもあり23時以降に到着となると事前に連絡をいれました。結局、宿には00:30頃到着したところ、手数料を10ポンド取られましたが、入れてくれました。 　ただ、地球の歩き方にも乗っていないエリアなのでgoogle mapの表示を印刷して持って行っても、バスがどの系統に乗ればいいのか最初は分からなかったうえ、時間の関係か駅前でタクシーを見つけられなかったので、歩いて行ったら相当時間が掛かってしまいました。 　あと、洗濯機と乾燥機がキッチンに備え付けで無料で利用可能。但し、洗剤は自分で用意すること。夜間は騒音防止のため洗濯機と乾燥機両方とも使用禁止。 ただ、自分勝手な利用者が洗濯物を入れっぱなしで取りにに来ない場合もある。 また、私の滞在中に故障して使えなくなったので、外のクリーニング店に設置のコインランドリーを使用しました。 　部屋は、IKEA製の2段ベッドと洗面台、TV、冷蔵庫、洋服収納棚が備え付け。トイレとバスルームは共有ですが、そこそこ広くて各階にあったので特に問題なし。 無線LANインターネット接続は、アクセスポイントが各階にあるようで、私の泊まった3階(現地表記で2階)比較的電波は入りやすかったです。 　ホテルの地上階はバーなので酒を飲むのには困りません。ただ、「生ビール(draught beer)」と書いているところにシードル(アップルサイダー酒)を混ぜて書くのはどうかと思いました。 　なお、アメリカ英語の発音だと当地イギリス人には通じないことがあったりします。私はコインランドリーがどこかを質問した際、coin laundryが通ず苦労しました。

We are sorry that you were not happy with our accommodation however can you please elaborate why your score was so low? For a little rate we are offering plenty of free services like: flat tv with DVD with over 100 channels ,bedding and towels as well as all toiletries in bathrooms, free internet, coffees and teas, refrigerator, USB plugs, central heating, fan plus access to fully equipped kitchen. Good Option for Last Minute Booking
This hotel is perfectly fine. It's definitely no frills, but certainly comfortable enough. It was well within our price range for a last minute reservation. We checked in later at night and the staff made us feel very welcome. The pub can get loud sometimes as can the neighborhood around it. The wifi was available in the room and in the pub and was always reliable. It's about a 15-20 minute walk to the nearest tube station, but a very short bus trip with several busses running regularly right out in front of the hotel. Strictly pub related: this doesn't seem "family owned" any longer and it certainly does not offer any kind of pub food outside of crisps. There's a nice variety of beers and the staff are friendly as well.

The staff were very friendly Considering it’s above a pub very quiet room was bigger than expected. Clean and tidy Room was hot but they did provide a decent fan for the room. Could do with a new mattress I’m a big girl so need a firm mattress but still a good stay if you are looking for somewhere to just put your head down this is the place and the Wi-Fi was very good 👍

Basic but cheap and has parking
I chose this hotel because I was looking for somewhere inexpensive for an overnight stay for work between attending two courses. I was pretty much going to get there, catch up on emails, sleep then go. The hotel describes itself as a basic, budget hotel and that is what it is. It looks like what it is. I chose this one because I had equipment with me and wanted on site parking - not always easy in London. The area is full of blocks of flats and is certainly not an affluent area. The parking was outside the front of the hotel so I was slightly worried about the car. The pub on the ground floor is clearly a favourite with locals who seems to know each other. A friendly and slightly bawdy atmosphere. Nice to get a reasonably priced drink to take up to my room. The staff were really friendly and the room was surprisingly large, the bed was comfortable though the quilt was rather thin and flat with an old looking cover. There were charging sockets by the bed - a good bonus for me. The Wifi refused to connect for more than 5 secs but I used my hotspot to do what I needed to do work wise. The en suite was small but clean and functional and the shower was nice and hot with choice of overhead or removable already head. There was a kitchen down the hall with a dryer, toaster etc. £66 for a night in London with parking. I could hear some noise from the pub downstairs but once it had closed it was surprisingly quiet. Basic, but clean and friendly. I will probably stay there again

Unfortunately my stay was poor, i had to be up reasonably early as i was working in the area and the hotel staff were bringing friends/pub regulars up through the hotel after closing time and they were very loud a little picky by me? Possibly, but it woke me up (11pm) and it showed no respect for the paying guests

For personal reasons my stay at the hotel had problems. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, their help meant my situation wasn't made worse. The room itself was small but spotlessly clean and the shower was brilliant. Fridge and tea/coffee making facilities at this price range were very welcome. Free parking after 630pm and all weekend was also really helpful. To all the staff who helped with my stay, thank you very much.

Nice, pretty quiet hotel in a rough looking neighborhood above a pub. First impression of the neighborhood was wrong, people were kind and it was cozy. Easy access, bus stop right on front, quick to get into the city. We arrived early and were admitted immediately, appreciated that! Great kitchen facilities but would have liked a larger refrigerator. Even though the pub downstairs, no noise problems whatsoever. Rooms don't have A/C so they will be hot in the summer. That didn't bother us, though.

Fantastic budget hotel.
For such a cheap stay (£40-50 per night) in London it was amazing. The host was lovely, showed me around the room and full kitchen facilities. I had an en-suite room, but there are cheaper options with shared facilities. If I am in the area again I will definitely book her (which is half the cost and twice as good as most other budget hotels in London).

Lage: Nächste Ubahnstation war ca. 25 Minuten Fußweg entfernt, daher kommt man bei einem längeren Aufenthalt nicht um das kostenpflichtige Busfahren herum. Stadtteil in dem das Hotel lag würde ich persönlich eher als sozialen Brennpunkt beschreiben Personal: Wir waren 5 Minuten vor 13 Uhr zum Checkin da aber das Personal wollte uns nicht reinlassen, da das Rauchen einer Zigarette wichtiger war. Sonst war es ok und durchwegs akzeptabel Zimmer: Sehr klein aber ok ausgestattet. Bad sehr klein und aus der Dusche kam am zweiten Tag leider nur kaltes Wasser raus. Sonst mit Handtuch Duschbad etc ausgestattet. (Kein Fön) Schallisolierung ist überhaupt nicht gegeben! Ab 5:00 Uhr in der früh, nach Beginn des Berufverkehrs, ist ein weiterschlafen unmöglich bei leichtem Schlaf. Auch Nachbarn die bis 24 Uhr in normalen Ton geredet haben waren zu verstehen. Checkout ging super schnell. Wlan war zuverlässig und schnell. Ich würde selber nicht noch einmal das Hotel buchen aufgrund der Lage und Schallisolierung. Wer sonst gerne viel läuft um in die City zu kommen und wirklich nur ein warmen Platz (Heizung ging teilweise) sucht, dem ist das Hotel zu empfehlen. Dafür war der Preis ok, trotzdem für das was man bekommt zu teuer.

Trotzdem denken wir, dass Sie uns etwas hart getroffen haben. Unsere Mitarbeiter werden ab einer bestimmten Zeit bezahlt und es liegt an ihnen, was sie mit ihrer Freizeit tun, und das sollten wir alle respektieren. Die meisten unserer Zimmer sind renoviert und schallisoliert. Zumindest die Zimmer, die uns unser Haus erlaubt hat, da dieses Gebäude unter Denkmalschutz steht. Wir befinden uns am Beginn der Zone 2 und sind nur 15 Minuten zu Fuß von der nächsten U-Bahnstation entfernt. Wir empfehlen unseren Gästen jedoch, den Bus zu benutzen, da sie viel schneller sind. Friendly, comfortable, clean
Checking in at a busy local pub bar, part of the hotel, felt a bit unusual to start. A warm friendly welcome from the efficient staff immediately made we welcome. The room had obviously been recently updated. A stylish en-suite shower room with top quality fittings had plenty of hot water, and the bed was comfortable. What else do you need.

Einfach aber schön
Mein Freund und ich haben für 2 Nächte im Hour Glass Hotel übernachtet. Insgesamt war alles sehr zufriedenstellend, die Angestellten waren freundlich und hilfsbereit, das Zimmer war sauber und uns stand eine ordentliche und saubere Gemeinschaftsküche zur Verfügung.

As indicações postadas eram muito boas, dando a impressão de uma opção excelente, considerado custo x beneficio. Todavia, as acomodações foram bem simplórias, sem conforto e apenas o banheiro e a limpeza salvaram o hotel de uma péssima avaliação. Tivemos problemas alérgicos, restringindo-nos a retornar apenas para dormir mesmo. A localização não era tão boa quanto dito, com apenas acesso rápido a ônibus. Sem opções de alimentação próximas.Realmente, não gostamos.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry that you were not entirely happy with our accommodation. Having said that we do advertise ourselves as budget and simple hotel with all description stated om the website you booked with. There is nothing we can do about anyone allergic issues, sorry. But we have to mention that we have plenty eateries around an our staff would have been more than happy to direct you there. Regards

GREAT PLACE
I HAVE STAYED THERE IN 2015 AND ENJOYED IT THEN SO I BOOKED IT AGAIN FOR THIS STAY. THE ONLY DRAWBACK IS THEY DONT HAVE 24 HR RECEPTION TO CHECK IN. BUT THEY ARE VERY NICE PEOPLE AND OWRKED WITH US
