First of all, this is not a bad place to stay. The room was clean, bed comfortable. Keep in mind, it's a budget motel at a budget price, so don't expect some of the luxuries you might get elsewhere, but you will get a good night sleep.
Our issue was that when we checked in, we were advised that there was work being done on the power lines, and the power would be out from Midnight to 3 AM. Inconvienent, but not too bad for a few hours while we were asleep. Well the outage was actually from 11 PM to 7:30 AM. I went back to the office, and they stated that they were told midnight to 3 AM, and they had it posted. We contacted Duke Energy and found out that the hotel was told 11 PM to 7 AM. We asked the desk clerk again, and he just pointed to the note that they had typed up and posted. Basically the hotel lied about the length of time of the failure so that they would not lose customers. This makes me realize that the hotel owners are not trustworthy. If they lie about that, what other lie will they tell you? By the way, when we went to leave, there was still no power, so no breakfast, coffee or juice. Don't trust them!!!!
